Phenotype
In E-MouseLab, phenotype is a collection of phenotype entries. A phenotype entry consists of two parts: tissue and phenotype description of that tissue. You can add any kind of tissue and phenotype description to make a phenotype entry. Each time when you enter a new tissue or phenotype description, the program automatically saves it into the dropdown list. The maximum length of tissue is 50 letters and phenotype description is 100 letters. You can add at most 250 phenotype entries to one mouse, embryo, or pup record.
To add phenotypes:
1. Search and open the mouse record in "Mouse detail" Advanced window.
2. Click "Phenotypes" to open the phenotype panel.
3. Type in or select a tissue from the "Tissue" dropdown list. The "Phenotype description" dropdown list will be changed accordingly.
4. Click ">>" to add the phenotype entry. Click "X" to remove selected entry. Click "-" to delete selected tissue or phenotype description.
5. To search mice by phenotypes, you need to select an owner first. You can search mice by tissue to get all the mice with a phenotype on that tissue, or search mice by phenotype entry.
